BARCELONA TOURS AND TOURNAMENTS FROM £189 PP + FLIGHTS
Sports Tours Europe arranges year round football packages to Barcelona. Spain can boast one of the strongest football scenes in the world.
The likes of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla need no
introduction, but this healthy structure goes right down to grass roots level,
where clubs are exceptionally well organised and invariably have thriving youth
programmes.
This means that we can arrange fixtures against local
teams anywhere in the country. It should be remembered that youth football is
almost entirely club based, with very little played in schools, so even at the
lowest level the standard is surprisingly good. Coaches take their roles very
seriously indeed, and from a very young age, Spanish children are already
surprisingly tactically aware.

VIIth EUROPEAN SUPPORTERS CUP JUNE 2011 IN BARCELONA
This
tournament has been won by fans’ teams from Chelsea, FC Barcelona, Spain (yeah
we know it’s a country) and Athletic Club Bilbao amongst others. Teams stay in
the heart of Barcelona and play on green pitches under a blue sky before heading
off to a big tapas dinner with their opponents followed by more fancy footwork
all night long. Teams must play in the official club colours and represent their
team with honour and respect to all.
II PROGRESO CARRASCO
TOURNAMENT JUNE 2011 IN
BARCELONA
A
small, local tournament run in honour of one of the host club’s greatest members
– Progresso Carrasco. A day of football in Barcelona across the road from FCB’s
training grounds. Open to social/amateur level teams. Accommodation can be
arranged in either the city centre or on the coast – sea or swimming
pool?
THE BARÇA
SEVENS OCTOBER 2010 IN BARCELONA
Our
version of the Anglo-Spanish Cup, seven-a-side style. Held on green pitches in
the centre of Barcelona all day Saturday. Definitely a fun event, but everybody
wants to win, don’t they? Open to all ages.
ENJOY BEACH
SOCCER 2010
A
series of beach soccer tournaments held in the Summer months up and down and all
around Barcelona. We can’t really think of a better idea than a dip in the sea
in between matches. Both male and female open age categories.
TORNEO VALL
D'ARO 2011
Our
favourite kind of tournament. An authentic, local tournament with a large
majority of the clubs being Catalan/Spanish. There are two tournaments – a
7-a-side tournament for the up to U12s at Easter and one for the older age
groups at the end of June.
MIC 2011
EASTER 2010
This
is one for the big boys. Every Easter teams of the calibre of Arsenal, Ajax,
Inter Milan and of course, FC Barcelona make the trip to the Costa Brava for
this one.
6th VILA DE
CALAFELL APRIL 2011 CALAFELL
A
lovely tournament on the Costa Daurada for the little ones. Friday for the boys
born 2002/2003 and Saturday for the boys born 2000/2001. Additional friendlies
can be arranged as well.
Spain is also very strong in terms of both VETERAN and WOMEN's football, and we have often had the pleasure of organising games for such teams.
The top clubs in most towns
and cities almost all play on grass or artificial surfaces. However, especially
in the drier parts of the country, many smaller clubs use dirt or clay pitches.
This may seem strange to some visitors at first, but does not take long to get
used to, and in many ways favours more skilful play.
